Internship Application Closed

The internship application period for the 2021-2022 academic year is closed. Please check back in March for new information.

OVLG is pleased to offer internships in financial education.

The internship pays $5,000 for three public awareness campaigns centered on the theme "financial education".

Each month, we will focus on a particular topic, as follows:

Month 1: Financial education

Part 1: Write and publish one relatable article on a local media platform about financial education that encourages readers to use OVLG’s financial knowledge tool to determine their level of financial literacy. Respondents' data and identities will be kept private.

Part 2: Collect questions to be answered by consumer bankruptcy attorney Lyle David Solomon. The questioners’ identities will be kept anonymous.

Part 3: Publish a second article on a local media platform that includes Lyle David Solomon's responses to readers' questions.

Month 2: Student loans

Part 1: Write and publish one article on a local media platform that addresses student loan debt problems in a relatable way.

Part 2: Collect questions to be answered by Lyle David Solomon. The questioners’ identities will be kept anonymous.

Part 3: Write another article that presents Lyle David Solomon's answers, and publish it locally.

Month 3: Medical debt

Part 1: Write and publish one article on a local media platform that addresses the problem of medical debt in a relatable way.

Part 2: Collect questions to be answered by Lyle David Solomon. The questioners’ identities will be kept anonymous.

Part 3: Write an article that presents Lyle David Solomon's answers, and publish it locally.

The top three interns will get free budgeting counseling sessions for a week.

Once participants complete the internship, they will receive a certificate in personal financial planning from Lyle David Solomon.
