My current boss constantly lies and fabricates information at our center. She mistakenly left her email open at my workplace and I saw some emails where she lied about me and my work to the higher authorities. I took a print out of the email as I became furious to find out if she was the real cause behind my not getting a promotion to another center and moreover putting my job at stake. What she has said are blatant lies and I can at anytime prove that they are not at all true. Is there any thing I can do? Can I sue her for defamation?

It seems as libel. However, it's to early to say anything until we know what is actually been written.

It completely depends on what has been said in the sentences. Doesn't matter whether true or not at the first hand. Check with an experienced attorney in your area. Hope this helps!
