I am retired and yes, might be a bit fussy. I do my own research before taking up an action. The person (I don’t want to name) goes on telling everyone repeatedly at every possible social gathering that I’m paranoid. This is becoming bothersome. Wanted to know if this can be claimed as slander or harassment?

You can sue him, but it won’t be of much help I presume. People can form opinions about you or your state of mind, and they do it all the time. It’s not illegal. It won’t be considered a slander, unless it causes substantial harm (like loss of employment or affection) etc. You have no cause of action here, just because the other individual goes on making comments about you. Best way is to IGNORE!
