I'm at 70 and living in Georgia with my only son. My husband has died recently leaving a home, cars, etc to my son and I. However, he had also accrued some credit card debts in his name. Can the credit card company cone after us for the debt and put a lien on our home?

Technically, though you are not subject to pay off your deceased husband’s credit card debts, the creditor might claim the estate. You know there is a machinery in the state of Georgia that is called Year’s Support, which you can apply at the Gwinnett County Probate Court. This might be a good option for you keeping in mind the question you’ve put here.
