I went through hard times few years back (lost my job), and stopped paying my credit cards and cell phone bills. Now I want take care of them so that I can build my credit to some extent. But I don’t know which companies are presently holding my debts. How can I find them out?

Usually, debt collectors search for debtors and often harass them to get the money back. However, I see you're an exception. Not an issue. You could certainly do that just by getting your annual free credit reports. Thoroughly check your credit reports and see who is reporting the bad debts.
