Got a notice that a credit card company is filing for a judgement against me. It's worth 1250 dollars! Tried getting in touch with the lawyer but couldn't get through. I'd assumed that these debts had been paid and haven't got any documents to support the same. What do I do? I don't think I can make this payment.

I second Abbie's opinion here. I'd also like to add that it's be a wise idea to pull your credit report and run a thorough check, so that you're absolutely sure of what you're doing.

First of all, send a letter to the concerned attorney listed on the pleading. Ask for verification of this credit card and positively file an answer within the time stated. This should be specified in your court papers.
