Purged means that the account has been removed and you don't need to pay anything anymore.

I called a collections company about a debt. that is owed to them so i could pay it off and they told me the account had been purged. what does this mean and can i get it off my report.

You can even ask the collection agency to remove wrong information and the correct account status to the credit bureaus. If they don't, then you can dispute yourself to clean up your report.

Purged means that the account has been removed and you don't need to pay anything anymore. And yes, you can remove it from your report. Just dispute the account with the CRA.
