An attorney and her partner along with the debt buyer has sent me letters from another state to collect on a debt that actually originated in Michigan. I have checked with the LARA (Michigan Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs) and found that neither of the attorneys are licensed to collect debts in Michigan. Can they sue me? Would that be legal?
