I’ve been sued for a debt that was collected back in 2005. How can a debt collection agency sue me twice for the same debt and even when I’ve already paid that long ago? What options do I have, is there any?

No, then of course they can't collect the same debt twice. If they have sued you, your defense would be 'accord and satisfaction'. You, perhaps have proofs that the debt was satisfied in full. If yes, send the company copies of the same. If they, however, still go on with their present set of mind, consult a consumer attorney so that you can enforce your rights under the FDCPA.
