I have been charged as an youthful offender and a mandatory surcharge of $300 has been levied on me. The date has been deferred but I don't have sufficient amount to pay. Can this turn up as a judgment and affect my credit? What can be the best way out for me now?

It can, if you ignore it. Don't fail to turn up at the court.

Ask for an extension and try to pay it within the extended time. Else it might lead to a civil judgement which is definitely going to show up on your credit report. You can try to set up a payment plan.
