Do goodwill letter help to wipe off past settled accounts?

Is goodwill letter the best way to remove old settled accounts from report? I have 2 old accounts still showing on my credit report, which was settled back in 2008. Can anyone here suggest anything else?
Can't disagree with Rachel here. Dispute with your credit reporting agencies. When the CRA contacts them, most creditors don't respond if the accounts have been settled. The accounts will automatically be removed then. Try it out and see if that works. You can try with gw letter after that.

Disputes work best. Even better than the goodwill.
