I've incurred $20,000 in debt through personal loans and credit cards. I've recently lost my job and can't make payments toward the loans. I'm thinking of filing bankruptcy, but I know the harsh consequences of filing. Can I avoid filing bankruptcy and somehow repay my debts? Do I have any option?

Never mind as you always have options. You should avoid bankruptcy as the consequences are disastrous. Reach out to your lenders and see if they can help you by any means or if you can settle out something for you. These days there are many debt relief programs conducted by professional debt relief companies. They can help you to pay off your debts and avoid bankruptcy.
