What can be the penalty if an individual spends some liquid assets that were to be divided up among some others in a will?

Taking a hint from the first reply, it can be said that if the individual does it after the death of the testator and obviously against the will, then legal steps can be taken against the doer.

It completely depends on whether the spending made was before or after the death of the testator. If the spending was done before and moreover with the consent of the testator, then there is little you can do.
