I stay in Texas and am having trouble with some payday loan companies. They are online payday loan providers and not the store-front ones. They are threatening me by telling that they're going to garnish my wages. Can they do that legally?

A payday lender can garnish your wages by bringing a judgment against you. Most payday companies often retain attorneys to do these procedures on their behalf. However, you can come to a settlement with them before they move to report  it to court. However, they usually don't do so.

Yes, they can garnish your wages legally as payday loans are legal in Texas. But for that they have to get a judgment against you. See if they have already filed a case against you. However, if they've, immediately talk to a consumer attorney to fight back.
