Delinquent debts can’t be collected in the state of Mississippi after the 3 year time limit according to the SOL.  That applies to the medical bills as well. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t be sued. You can defend yourself in the court stating that the SOL has expired.

The SOL however doesn’t apply to the state or state entities. So, if it’s a county hospital, they can try to collect the dues.

Which state are you from and what kind of debt you are having? Anyway (whatever it might be),  check out this SOL on debt page. You might get your answer. Hope this helps!
