Can my credit score go up if I have only one credit card in credit history?

My present credit score is 733 and I've built such a number solely by using credit cards and paying bills on time. However, few days back somebody told me that the absence of any kind of loan in my credit history will prevent my score from going higher. Is that true? Should I go for some consumer loan as I'm planning to apply for a mortgage in near future?
