I have paid off an old debt. It is still there on my credit report. I have asked the debt collection agency to remove it. They haven’t. What should be my next step?

How old is the debt? Please understand this fact. The debt will be there on your credit report (even if it has been paid off) for 7 years and 180 days from the first date of default.

Your next step would be to ask the collection agency to update the status of your account on your credit report.
