Student loans can't be discharged through bankruptcy unless you pass the Brunner Test.

You see, my husband and i filed for ch 7 few months back. Now this petition includes both of our student loans. One for each of us. These all in deferment i believe. I'd like to know will the loan still be considered “past due” when i'd be discharged ultimately?

Yes, the collector should. Most importantly, you should get a written document from the collector stating you've cleared the payment.

If I make a payment on a Collection account that is in my credit report is the Collector required to keep the record up to date as payments are being made to the account?

Please understand that student loans can't be discharged through bankruptcy this easily. You need to prove a situation of extreme hardship for only then would you be able to obtain a discharge. This means you need to pass the Brunner Test. Moreover, are you sure about the deferment bit? What do you mean by “i believe”? You need to be sure of the facts when it comes to your finances, otherwise it can lead to a lot more confusion unnecessarily.
