After the BAPCPA in 2005, the bankruptcy laws have become more strict than ever before.

How bankruptcy works if you are married? Say if one’s credit is ruined but another’s in good shape. If one files, will the bankruptcy affect the other spouse? In fact, can one do it alone without affecting his/her spouse at all? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

After the BAPCPA in 2005, the bankruptcy laws have become more strict than ever before. Now in a bankruptcy case, the court asks for a complete history of the family income to make sure you’ll be able to make the payments.
