Our credit card debts have gone beyond limits, and I will be filing a joint bankruptcy with my spouse. My in-laws had allowed us to consolidate around 7k on one of their cards. Can that be included in the bk filing too?

I guess not. The debt is on their card, and belongs to them now. It can't be included in your bankruptcy filing.

Your liability to your in-law is personal. It won't reflect on your report. However, if it was like a loan from in-law, it might be considered dischargeable.
